Concerns or Questions About Your Care

Your experience and satisfaction with the professional services you receive from the team at the DBT Center are very important to us. Therapy can sometimes bring up strong emotions or misunderstandings, and we believe that open, respectful communication is often the best place to start.

If you have any concerns about your therapy, we encourage you to first speak with your therapist and/or with our Clinical Director, Kelly Guynes, LCSW, whenever possible. Many concerns can be resolved through conversation, clarification, or repair within the therapeutic relationship.

If you feel unable to discuss your concerns directly, or if the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to contact the appropriate licensing or regulatory board that oversees mental health professionals in the State of Texas.

Licensing and Regulatory Information (Texas)

At the DBT Center we have therapists with different licenses. Mental health professionals in Texas (including LCSWs, LPCs, and LMFTs) are regulated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC).

You may contact the board using the information below:

The licensing board reviews concerns such as violations of client confidentiality, sexual misconduct, or practicing outside the scope of one’s professional training or license. The board will determine whether there is sufficient information to warrant a formal investigation.
