Lindsey Overstreet, PsyD
Director of Training
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Trauma Specialist, DBT-PE Advanced
I’m Dr. Lindsey Overstreet, and I am passionate about working with adolescents and their families to build healthier, happier, and more mindful lives. I first began working clinically with children and families in 2007, as a graduate student at the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium. I began studying Dialectical Behavior Therapy and implementing it into my practice in 2009, and I was fortunate to be able to immerse myself in DBT 24/7 when I began my post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University/McLean Hospital’s 3East Residential Adolescent DBT Program in 2013. In my five years at McLean, I was able to learn from some of the best clinicians in the field, and I had the opportunity to help open two programs: an outpatient adolescent DBT program and a residential DBT program for adolescent boys.
I also received advanced trauma training in DBT-PE and was a member of a trauma consultation and training team. I moved to Houston, Texas, to be closer to my family in 2018, and I feel extremely fortunate to have found the DBT Center and to be a part of such an excellent team here. In addition to therapy, I provide clinical supervision to graduate students, and I enjoy teaching and training students and clinicians. I am a board member and trainer for DBTWise, and I’m currently working on my first book on DBT family therapy.
In my free time, I enjoy singing in choir, writing poetry, baking, rooting for the Red Sox, and spending time with my two nieces and my cat, Dobby.
